Basics

1. Add a photo folder: Select Add Folder in the center of the welcome screen. If your license is not active, choose Show Purchase Information in the message that appears and review the Trial or Full Unlock options. 2. Show your photos: If no photos appear after selecting a folder, open Settings → Library & Search, then choose Rescan All Folders from Other Actions. 3. Search: Enter words in Search photos, then press Return to run the search. 4. On-device AI search: There is no separate start button or always-visible switch for AI search. When AI search is available, AI candidates are included in results from the same search field. 5. Filter by shooting details: Selecting a value in Filters applies it immediately. Remove conditions individually or use Clear All. 6. Similar Photos and Favorites: Select a photo to open its details, view Similar Photos, or add it to Favorites. 7. Show in Finder: Choose Show in Finder from photo details. 8. Unregister a folder or delete local data: Choose the appropriate action in Settings and confirm the target first.

Purchases

Select Add Folder on the welcome screen, then choose Show Purchase Information in the license message. You can also open Settings → About / Licenses → Purchase Information. The Purchase Information screen includes Start 14-Day Trial, Purchase for the one-time Full Unlock, and Restore Purchases. If product information does not appear or a completed purchase is not reflected, check your network and Mac App Store account state, restart the app, then try Restore Purchases again.

RAW images

If a RAW image is not displayed, check whether macOS supports the format, whether the file is intact, whether it has an embedded preview or a same-name JPEG, then run the library update again.

On-device AI search

Check that the 14-day Trial or Full Unlock is active, then open Settings → Library & Search → AI Search Data and confirm that Libria shows AI Search Available. If your photos are on an external drive or NAS, reconnect it and follow the guidance shown in Libria.

Free storage

At least 8 GB of free storage is recommended for installation and initial processing. Local library storage grows depending on the number and format of registered photos and the previews created. Additional free storage is required for larger libraries.

The app itself is about 0.9 GB as a local reference. While you use Libria, your Mac stores thumbnails, previews, search information, and indexes for on-device AI search. In the current measurement of about 5,000 photos, this local data used about 3.7 GB. Usage varies with photo count, format, RAW files, and reprocessing.

Initial processing may need additional temporary space. 8 GB is a conservative published guideline, not a guaranteed technical minimum. Keep more free space for large libraries, RAW-heavy libraries, or Macs that are already low on storage. If storage is insufficient, library updates or some processing may not complete.

FAQ

Are my photos uploaded to the cloud?

Libria does not upload your photos to cloud AI services. Photo recognition and search run on your Mac.

Does Libria change my original photo files?

Registered folders are handled with read-only access. Libria creates thumbnails and search information locally.

Do I need to move photos into a special folder?

No. Register the photo folders you already use.

Does Libria support RAW images?

It supports RAW images where macOS ImageIO can decode them. It may use an embedded preview or a same-name JPEG, and does not promise every RAW format.

Does on-device AI search need an internet connection?

Photo processing for on-device AI search runs on your Mac. Mac App Store-related actions, such as loading purchase information or restoring purchases, may need a connection.

Does the 14-day free trial start automatically?

No. It starts only when you choose to begin it in Purchase Information.

Can I still see my photos after the 14-day free trial ends?

Before a trial starts or after it ends, you can still browse existing library data, open settings, purchase, restore purchases, unregister folders, and delete local data.

Is the one-time purchase a subscription?

No. The one-time purchase has no monthly fee. See the Mac App Store for current pricing.

Can I restore a purchase?

Yes. Select Restore Purchases in Purchase Information.

Is there a Windows or iPhone version?

Libria is currently available for macOS only. Windows and iPhone versions are not currently offered.
